There’s a saying which most of us are familiar with ‘use it or lose it’ This could apply to Hornsea Sailing Club and the poor turnout

at the Open. The clubs geographical position may be a consideration as just too far for most people for a one day event, but if we don’t make the effort to support clubs like Hornsea they will not be interested in running an event.

It is an excellent stretch of water and its position usually guarantees some wind, and this time, happily, some sunshine.

Just four Miracles travelled to Hornsea this year, yet despite this low turnout the action on the water proved to be most enjoyable. Jon and Phillip Aldous doing battle with Stan Lubner/Brian Henline throughout the three races, whilst Dave and Jean Reed played catchup with Steve and Matt Bloomfield.
